Many people who reach out are feeling overwhelmed, stuck in painful patterns, navigating life transitions or identity questions, or longing for a deeper sense of meaning, connection, and balance in their lives. I work with individuals seeking support with anxiety, depression, life transitions, identity exploration, and the effects of stress and trauma.
As a gay Cuban American man, my work explores how experiences of oppression and resilience intersect and shape people’s lives. I am committed to creating spaces that honor the complexity of identity, welcome diverse cultural and spiritual backgrounds, and acknowledge the impact of racism, homophobia, sexism, and other forms of systemic oppression on our bodies and hearts.

My clinical orientation is grounded in mindful somatic psychotherapy, a client-centered approach that integrates mindfulness, body awareness, and therapeutic dialogue. This process invites gentle, nonjudgmental awareness of present-moment experience and honors the wisdom of the body as a doorway into emotional patterns and underlying beliefs. Together, we may explore thoughts, emotions, sensations, posture, and subtle movements as they arise to better understand the patterns shaping how you relate to yourself and others. Depending on your needs and preferences, our work may emphasize reflective dialogue, body awareness, gentle experiential practices, or a combination of these approaches. At the heart of my work is the belief that healing unfolds within a compassionate and attuned relationship.

I am a Certified Mindful Self Compassion teacher and teacher trainer, a Certified Yoga Therapist, and a trained MBSR, MBCT, and MBC teacher. I serve as section faculty in the Institute for Meditation and Psychotherapy Certificate Program and as Senior Mindfulness Instructor at the Cambridge Health Alliance Center for Mindfulness and Compassion. I am the former Educational Director and current core faculty for the Self Compassion in Psychotherapy (SCIP) Certificate Program through the Center for Mindful Self Compassion.

My teaching is rooted in the mindfulness tradition of Thich Nhat Hanh, and I am a member of the Order of Interbeing. This lineage informs my commitment to mindfulness, interbeing, compassion, and engaged Buddhism—values that guide how I show up with individuals and communities in ways that are accessible and welcoming to all.
